📖 A Thought from My Personal Meditation (Exodus 5 & 6)
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
As I was meditating on Exodus 5 and 6, I was deeply encouraged by Moses’ life.
Moses obeyed God’s calling, stood before Pharaoh, and faithfully spoke God’s words. Yet, instead of seeing immediate victory, everything seemed to get worse.
Pharaoh mocked him and increased the burden on the Israelites. The people of Israel became discouraged and blamed Moses for their suffering. We can see how the enemy often uses such situations to bring division between God’s servants and God’s people.
Sometimes, we experience the same in our lives. When we choose to stand for God or while doing God’s ministry, we may face misunderstanding, criticism, or rejection—even from those closest to us: our family, relatives, friends, or even fellow believers.
Moses was deeply discouraged. He lost confidence and twice said, “I am of uncircumcised lips.” (Exodus 6:12, 30). Yet God did not reject him. Instead, He reminded Moses of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and assured him that He would deliver His people with an outstretched arm.
When Moses spoke again to the Israelites, they still would not listen because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery (Exodus 6:9). With a heavy heart, Moses returned to the Lord. Rather than giving up, he brought his disappointment into God’s presence. And once again, God strengthened him and commanded him to go back to Pharaoh.
One lesson touched my heart today:
When trials, misunderstandings, and discouragement come because we stand for God or while serving in His ministry, let us first run to God’s presence rather than depending only on human comfort. God knows us completely. He knows our weaknesses, our failures, and the true intentions of our hearts. He will never abandon those who trust in Him.
