📖 A Thought from My Personal Meditation (Exodus 19)
As I was meditating on Exodus 19 today, I was reminded of a beautiful truth that reveals the heart of God.
About three months after leaving Egypt, the children of Israel arrived at the foot of Mount Sinai. There, God called Moses up the mountain and gave him a message for the people.
The Lord said:
“You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.”
Exodus 19:4
These words beautifully reveal God’s heart.
God did not deliver Israel merely to bring them out of Egypt or simply to take them into the wilderness. He delivered them to bring them to Himself. His greatest desire was to have a covenant relationship and close fellowship with His people.
Before asking Israel to obey His commandments, God first reminded them of His grace and redemption—how He had already delivered them, protected them, and carried them as an eagle carries its young.
Only then did He say:
“If you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own treasured possession among all peoples… and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.”

The same truth is beautifully reflected in the New Testament.
Jesus Christ first gave His life on the cross to redeem us from sin. Having redeemed us by His grace, He now calls us to walk in obedience, holiness, and daily fellowship with Him.
We are not called merely to bear the name “Christian” or to attend church only on Sundays. God has called us to be His treasured possession, a holy people, and a royal priesthood, living lives that reflect His character.
As 1 Peter 1:15–16 reminds us:
“Be holy, because I am holy.”

God desires far more than religious activities. He longs for a living relationship with us. He wants us to delight in His presence, delight in His Word, and glorify Him through the way we live every day.
May we never forget that God did not simply save us from something; He saved us for Himself.
May God help us to live as His treasured people, growing daily in holiness, obedience, and intimate fellowship with Him, as faithful servants—both men and women—for His glory.
