π A Thought from My Personal Meditation
Exodus 25:31β40
.
βοΈ The Lampstand: A Life That Shines Through God’s Power
.
As I continued meditating on Exodus 25, my attention was drawn to the golden lampstand.
.
What especially spoke to my heart was God’s instruction to Moses:
.
π “See that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.” β Exodus 25:40
.
God showed Moses a heavenly pattern and instructed him to make it exactly as he had seen it. Moses was not permitted to add his own ideas or remove anything from God’s design.
.
What a lesson for us!
.
God’s work must be done God’s way.
.
The lampstand itself carries a beautiful spiritual message.
.
The Holy Place had no windows. Without the lampstand, there would have been no light.
.
Jesus said:
.
π “I am the light of the world.” β John 8:12
.
Just as the lampstand brought light into the Holy Place, Jesus Christ brings light into a world darkened by sin.
.
Another detail is worth noting. The lampstand was not made of separate pieces joined together. It was to be made from one piece of pure gold, hammered out (Exodus 25:31). The central shaft and all six branches formed one lampstand.
.
This reminds us of our unity in Christ. Though there are many believers, we are one body. Our life, our light, and our strength all come from the same sourceβJesus Christ.
.
The branches of the lampstand were connected to the central shaft. This reminds us of Jesus’ words:
.
π “I am the vine; you are the branches.” β John 15:5
.
Just as a branch cannot bear fruit unless it remains in the vine, we cannot bear spiritual fruit unless we remain in Christ.
.
The lampstand also required a continual supply of oil. In Scripture, oil often points to the work of the Holy Spirit.
.
One detail particularly spoke to my heart. The priests were responsible for tending the lamps continually before the Lord (Leviticus 24:3β4). Day after day, attention had to be given to the lamp so that its light would continue to shine.
.
The same is true in our spiritual lives.
.
Yesterday’s grace is not enough for today’s life.
.
π “His mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” β Lamentations 3:23
.
Just as the priests cared for the lamp each day, we too need daily renewal in God’s presence.
.
Every day we need continual fellowship with God, fresh strength from His Word, and complete dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
.
The lampstand reminds us that the light does not come from ourselves.
.
It comes from Christ, the Light of the World.
.
It is sustained by the Holy Spirit.
.
And it shines brightest when we remain connected to Him.
.
May God help us remain close to Christ, continually filled with the Holy Spirit, and faithfully reflect His light in a world darkened by sin.
.
π May the good Lord bless you with these words.
.
πΏ Have a blessed day!
